What I like about only posting my photojournal once a week is the sense of perspective…
Was it really a week since Scottish people were buying Spanish flags?
This week, I enjoyed walking around the Anderston Centre, the failed modernist project near Charing Cross.
Going to the Arlington before it closed for maintenance.
The sad sight of people in door ways.
Seeing women dancing to street performers…
… and something emerging at the Mitchell library.
On Thursday, we travelled down to England to see family, stopping off in Birmingham for lunch and to visit the Ikon gallery. The current exhibition has Jesse Jones (seen last year at Talbot Rice) responding to Artemisia Gentileschi with a sublime performance by the amazing Stephanie Lamprea. It was totally immersive.
Dion Kitson in the gallery above seems part of a generation of working class artists (eg Trackie Macleod) who embrace and subvert the stereotypes. Both great exhibitions although slightly jarring one after the other.
i don't know if there is something wrong or not but i said it's better to let you know: i am subscribed to you but for some reason the wip post don't appear on my newsfeed. i can see the saturday ones but not wip. maybe you are using different sections and that is the problem - i don't know.
